This is probably the video I’m most content with thus far in my short weeks with my drone. A beautiful setting with streaming water together with ice and bare rocks. An old, small power plant building built from red bricks gave the snowy views a nice contrast.
A sunny day would have been a plus and some snow on the trees would have made the scene even more beautiful. But we can’t adjust nature and that’s part of the fun. I even recorded the sound of the water running, adding to the overall atmosphere. Got my fingers frozen to the point they really hurt, but it was worth it! And of course I had the obligatory warm coffee with me, so that gave some instant relief.
I visited a popular beach in January, not that many people around at that time…
A bit windy again, but the drone gimbal kept the images stable despite. There was something fishy with the gimbal at first, you can see the horizon tilted to the left in a few clips. I calibrated it on a bench (which wasn’t even even) and it helped. Personally I loved the ice rafts straight from up above, should have shot more of those!
Welcome to my blog! Here I reveal some behind-the-scenes info about my videos and trips to the Finnish outdoors.
This was a video that I shot on a cold day in January, temperatures around -4C. It was a bit too windy for my drone, the DJI Mavic Pro, but luckily the wind calmed down after a short walk. As an added bonus, the sun came up and I got pretty images with sunlight shining through the trees.
